Filmmaking Program

January 27th - April 21st

4pm - 7pm Tue + Thu

The filmmaking program is a high paced intellectual challenge for aspiring movie makers. Covering all aspects of filmmaking, this program is meant to fast track skill development through hands on lessons. The goal of the program is to write, direct, film and edit a short film in 12 weeks. 

The Art of Screenwriting

Master the fundamentals of storytelling, character development, and screenplay structure.

The Visual Language of Film

Master the technical and creative aspects of cinematography, including camera operation, lighting, and composition.

Directing + Casting

Develop essential skills in casting, directing actors, and bringing characters to life on screen.

Post-Production

Master the art of film editing from basic cuts to advanced techniques.

Life Skills & Media Onsite is a life skills program in Charlotte designed specifically for individuals that engage with learning creatively.

Through real-world, hands-on learning and modern technology, students build essential skills to navigate everyday life. This life skills training focuses on four key areas critical for independent living and success: communication skills, money management, social skills through humor, and emotional regulation.

This hands-on training helps individuals build real-world financial literacy that supports independent living

Humor & Social Skills

Emotional wellbeing

The Media Arts Center is an attract school, not a pursuit school. There are no admissions advisors, enrollment counselors, or recruiters of any kind. Everyone who works here is a teacher experienced in subjects they know deeply. If you want to be chosen for one of five seats in an upcoming class the obligation is on you to read, reach out, apply, and tour. We are not a community college and do not accept everyone in the community.

We look for initiative, communication, and preparation in all applicants prior to consideration for acceptance.
